Conforme notícia oficial, foi disponibilizado uma nova atualização do driver para placas de vídeo ATI. A versão 8.5 (ou 8.493 no controle de versões anterior). Abaixo, correções e novidades extraídas da nota de lançamento:

Conforme notícia oficial, foi disponibilizado uma nova atualização do driver para placas de vídeo ATI. A versão 8.4 (ou 8.476 no controle de versões anterior) trás novidades e correções, entre elas:

Essa versão do driver provê uma maior compatibilidade com o (K)Ubuntu 8.04 que será oficialmente lançado em alguns dias.
Ao selecionar a opção “Wait for vertical retrace” no CCC (Catalyst Control Center) não faz mais com que o FPS da aplicação deixe de sincronizar com a atualização vertical da tela.
Não é mais percebida uma tela preta ao trocar de console ou ao deixar o sistema gráfico (X window).
A reprodução de vídeos não mais exibe cores incorretas e sombras adicionais ao cortar ou expandir arquivos de vídeo em players que utilizam a extensào XVideo.

Conforme notícia oficial, foi disponibilizado uma nova atualização do driver para placas de vídeo ATI. A versão 8.3 (ou 8.471 no padrão de versões antigo) trás novidades e correções, entre elas:

Esta versão introduz a extensão Xvideo para escalonamento de vídeo para a série Xpress 1200.
Aplicações 3D não mais sofrerão distorções quando a largura da resolução não for um inteiro múltiplo de 64 pixels, por exemplo com uma resolução widescreen de 1680×1050.
Sem distorções de tela ao iniciar o protetor de tela no gnome.
Muitos problemas de brilho e correção-gama foram resolvidos. Definindo a correção-gamma através da utilização do xgamma, fglrx_xgamma, xorg.conf e também em OpenGL games funcionarão corretamente.
A distorção diagonal presente em players de vídeo que utilizam a extensão Xvideo não será mais apresentada.
A reprodução de vídeo não parecerá mais quadriculada utilizando players sobre a extensão Xvideo.

Driver ATI 8.1 disponível para Linux

Conforme site oficial, foi disponibilizado uma nova atualização do driver de placas de vídeo ATI. Entre as principais novidades, que não foram poucas, podemos citar:

Corrigida a falha onde após certo tempo de uso era apresentado uma espécie de hachura no canto inferior direito da tela e ocasionalmente no cursor do mouse.
Monitores com suporte a resolução de 1680×1050 em sistemas linux não mais resultam em uma resolução máxima de 1280×1024.
Suspender para RAM ou Disco em um kernel 2.6.23 ou superior não falha mais. (amei essa ;-)
